Poetry in motion
Denver’s historically diverse Whittier neighborhood still gives a nod to its namesake, the 19th-century abolitionist poet John Greenleaf Whittier. (The neighborhood actually takes its name from the Denver school that was named after Whittier, who lived and died in Massachusetts.) Residents and visitors can take a walk back in time through this community’s gracious old architecture on Oct. 2 during the Historic Whittier House Tour. Tickets are $14 in advance and $17 the day of the tour at all Front Range King Soopers locations, KJ’s Coffee Bar (1710 E. 25th Ave.) or online at .
