HAMPTON FALLS, N.H.—A Marine reservist who died after being shot allegedly by a fellow reservist in Colorado is being laid to rest in his home state of New Hampshire.

A wake for Benton Brubaker is scheduled for Sunday at Remick and Gendron Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday in the Philips Exeter Academy Chapel, followed by burial in the High Street Cemetery in Hampton.

The 24-year-old Brubaker died last weekend in a Colorado hospital after he was allegedly shot by a fellow reservist at a home in Aurora, Colo.

That man faces manslaughter charges for what police have called a “tragic incident.”

Family members tell the Portsmouth Herald ( ) that Brubaker is a graduate of Phillips Exeter and Colorado College who lit up the lives of all he knew.
