COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—El Paso County officials are considering a four-month moratorium on exploratory oil and gas drilling.
The moratorium was proposed by El Paso County officials who say they expect large-scale drilling in the county.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette ( ), the board delayed consideration of the request until Thursday.
County officials say a suspension would give the county more time to write regulations on visual appearances of the sites, impacts to roads and ensuring adequate and safe water supplies.
