Many Denverites have been visiting Kiehl’s in Cherry Creek Shopping for such iconic products as its lip balm and body lotion, but the store is likely to welcome outdoor lovers tomorrow when it celebrates its grand opening with a 12-2 p.m. appearance and presentation by mountain climber Aron Ralston. Kiehl’s is also making a donation of $10,000 to Ralston’s favorite charity, Wilderness Workshop. Kiehl’s, founded in New York in 1851, has a longtime commitment to both the environment and to the communities where it has stores, which is why it teamed with Ralston, according to spokeswoman Rachael Kelly. Ralston, who went to Cherry Creek High School and now lives in Boulder, became famous when he saved his life by amputating his lower arm after becoming trapped in a slot canyon in Utah. His memoir about the ordeal, “Between a Rock and a Hard Place,” was published in 2004 and was made into a movie last year. Copies of the book will be for sale and Ralston will be signing them at the store. The first 160 people to arrive at the store will also receive samples of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and there will be raffles for products. Kiehl’s Since 1951, Cherry Creek Shopping Center, lower level between Macy’s and Neiman Marcus; 3001 E. 1st Ave., 303-377-3900
