Law officers are looking for a burglary suspect they believe ran onto the Pikes Peak Community Campus-Centennial in Colorado Springs, according to multiple reports on local television stations.
The suspect, believed to be involved in an attempted burglary at a storage unit, was possibly armed, so the campus was put on lockdown during a search.
The lockdown was lifted before 9:30 p.m., when the search failed to locate the suspect.
According to KKTV-TV Channel 11, a text alert sent to students said: “There has been a report of an armed gunman at the Centennial Campus. If you’re at the campus, shelter in place (lock yourself in your classroom/office and avoid detection). Details to follow.”
