ASPEN, Colo.—The Aspen Skiing Co. has ended a program to improve communication between ski instructors and management to air grievances.
The program was set up 18 years ago to prevent formation of a union by allowing ski instructors who were elected by their peers to represent the instructors.
According to the Aspen Times ( ), the company that employs 1,200 instructors changed its position because the National Labor Relations Board ruled that the company’s advisory board doesn’t comply with labor regulations.
Some current and former ski instructors say they are afraid to discuss the program because they fear retribution.
