Boulder police responded to the area of U.S. 36 and Baseline Road after a woman fell or jumped from the overpass and suffered life-threatening injuries this afternoon.
Police spokeswoman Kim Kobel initially said that “somebody did jump” from the roadway around 4 p.m., but investigators now say they are not sure if she jumped or fell.
Kobel said the person appears to have fallen from the highway 25 feet onto the westbound lane of Baseline that’s closest to the median. She was not hit by oncoming traffic, Kobel said.
The woman is now in critical condition at Boulder Community Hospital with serious head injuries. Police have not yet identified her but said she appears to be in her late twenties or early Boulder police are responding to the area of U.S. 36 and Baseline Road on a report that a female has jumped from an overpass.
