Eight people were injured including five children late Friday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Timberline Road and Vermont Drive.

Jayde Tarvin, 27, and four children ages 2, 5, 7 and 10 received non-life-threatening injuries in a 2001 Dodge Durango.

Andrew Milligan and Lauryn Milligan, both 26, and a 2-year-old child also received non-life-threatening injuries in a 2009 Honda sedan, according to Drew Jurkofsky, Fort Collins police spokesman.

Tarvin was driving north on Timberline toward Vermont Drive when her car slammed into a car driven by Milligan, whose car was facing south on Timberline, at 4:29 p.m., Jurkofsky said.

All eight people involved in the accident were rushed to Poudre Valley Hospital, Jurkofsky said.

Police are investigating whether speed contributed to the accident. They are also looking at whether children were not properly placed in safety seats.

Charges are pending, Jurkofsky said.
