Eight people were injured, including five children, in a collision at Timberline Road and Vermont Drive in Fort Collins on Friday afternoon.

Jayde Tarvin, 27, and four children ages 2, 5, 7, and 10 received non-life-threatening injuries in a 2001 Dodge Durango.

Andrew Milligan and Lauryn Milligan, both 26, and a 2-year-old also received non-life-threatening injuries in a 2009 Honda sedan, according to Drew Jurkofsky, Fort Collins police spokesman.

Tarvin was driving north on Timberline toward Vermont Drive when her car slammed into a car driven by Milligan, whose car was facing south on Timberline, at 4:29 p.m., Jurkofsky said.

Police are investigating whether speed contributed to the accident. They are also looking at whether children were properly placed in safety seats.
