A motorcyclist was killed after smashing into an Oldsmobile in Boulder County this afternoon.
At 3:14 p.m., emergency crews were called to the intersection of Nelson Road and U.S. Highway 36, after a report of a traffic accident involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
An Oldsmobile Bravada was stopped at a stop sign on westbound Nelson Road at U.S. 36., the patrol said.
The motorcycle was driving northbound on U.S. 36 approaching Nelson Road when the Oldsmobile Bravada entered the intersection and the motorcycle collided with the Oldsmobile.
The rider of the motorcycle, who has not been identified, was taken to Boulder Community Hospital and later died.
The driver of the Oldsmobile was uninjured.
U.S. 36 is closed in both directions, four miles north of Boulder, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The highway will likely remain closed for an additional hour.
