Devin Hester: The Bears speedster, left, set an NFL record with his 11th career punt return for a touchdown, running one back 69 yards against the Panthers. Tied with Eric Metcalf coming in, Hester took over the record early in the second quarter when he fielded a line drive by Jason Baker and returned up the left side for a 24-10 lead. A three-time Pro Bowl pick, Hester is the league’s all-time leader for combined touchdowns on kick returns with 15.
Steve Smith: Passed Muhsin Muhammad as Carolina’s all-time leading receiver, finishing with 181 yards on eight catches. He needed 23 yards to set the record and now has 9,414 in his career.
Lions: With its comeback victory over Dallas, Detroit has won a franchise-record five straight on the road. The Lions are the first team in NFL history to win consecutive games in which they trailed by at least 20 points.
Tom Brady: Threw for two touchdowns at Oakland to pass Joe Montana (273) on the all-time list and tie Vinny Testaverde for eighth place all time with 275.
