The 21st-ranked Colorado State women’s volleyball team defeated host San Diego State 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18) on Sunday. Senior Katelyn Steffan led the way, recording 18 kills and five blocks.
CSU has won 19 consecutive matches against the Aztecs dating to 2002. The Rams will host a nonconference match Thursday against Seattle at 7 p.m. before continuing Mountain West play Saturday at Wyoming.
ASU tops Buffs’ soccer team.
The Colorado women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to visiting Arizona State. Nicki Stone scored on a second-half penalty kick for the Sun Devils (5-6-0, 1-2-0 Pac-12). CU fell to 3-6-2, 0-2-1.
Paul leads Cowgirls over UNC.
The Wyoming (8-4-2) women’s soccer team defeated Northern Colorado 2-1 in double overtime. Sara Paul scored the Cowgirls’ goals, tallying the game-winner in the 107th minute. JJ Wykstra scored for the Bears (4-6-2).
Arvada figure skater LaNigro places fourth.
Katie LaNigro, of Arvada and the Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club, placed fourth in the United States National Solo Dance championship at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.
