More baseball in Colorado?

The city of Grand Junction says it is in talks with Monfort Investment Group about a minor-league baseball franchise. The investment group is led by Rockies general partners Dick and Charlie Monfort.

City Manager Laurie Kadrich confirmed the discussions in an announcement Monday, but city officials said no details would be discussed until the matter is scheduled on a City Council agenda. Speculation has been bubbling since Monfort Investment Group bought the Casper Ghosts of the Pioneer League this year, and there are rumors the minor-league team might leave Casper.
