LONGMONT, Colo.—The Longmont Public Library is asking the city council for money to start buying anti-bedbug furniture after the library found six contaminated chairs in August.

According to the Longmont Times-Call (), replacing all the upholstered furniture would run about $53,000. The library says it wants to start with 12 wooden benches that would cost about $5,000.

The library posted signs warning patrons about the bugs, but it did not close. The library also called in exterminators to remove the bugs.
