COLOGNE, Germany — A German airport worker was sentenced to 1 1/2 years of probation Thursday by a Cologne court for his “moronic” bomb threat against the Ikea furniture chain.
According to the court, the 24-year-old sent an e-mail in August to Ikea threatening bomb attacks if he did not receive 100,000 euros (about $134,000). However, he sent the e-mail from an Internet cafe in the airport where he works, which also contained a surveillance camera.
