Police in Aurora are investigating how a car ended up crashing into a home in Aurora this afternoon.

No injuries have been reported, though the house, near East 2nd Drive and Peoria Street, was significantly damaged.

The woman driving the SUV told police she had a medical condition and blacked out while driving. Police said the woman was medically cleared at the scene and will not be ticketed because of her condition.

Cindy Andersen, a public information officer for the Aurora Fire Department, said firefighters were called to the home at about 5 p.m.

The car ended up through the front of the home, and on top of utility lines, so crews waited for Xcel Energy to arrive on scene before attempting to move the car.

The driver was also uninjured, she said.

It remains unclear how many people, if any, were home at the time.
