Stuart Lord will be stepping down after serving two years as Naropa University’s president, the Boulder school announced Thursday night.

University officials said the school will begin a transition period Oct. 16, with Lord officially leaving Naropa on Dec. 31.

“The university and Dr. Lord have arrived at a mutually agreed-upon arrangement, with the leadership transition commencing next week,” according to a statement from the Naropa Board of Trustees.

Lisa Trank, a spokeswoman for Naropa, said Lord is leaving due to “personal and family considerations.” Lord first told the board of his intentions in late September.
