Kalie Vaughn scored two goals to lead the University of Denver women’s soccer team (11-2-0) to a 7-0 win over visiting South Alabama (9-3-2) on Friday night.

Kari Storslett added a goal and two assists, and Nicholette DiGiacomo and Anna Willis each had a goal.

Sioux fight off Falcons.

Brock Nelson scored twice in the last 6:12 of the game to lift North Dakota to a 4-3 win over Air Force at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Grand Forks, N.D.

Nelson netted the tying goal for North Dakota (1-0-0) at 13:48 of the third period and got the game- winner at 15:15. Casey Kleisinger, Stephen Carew and George Michalke staked the Falcons to a 3-2 lead after two periods.

FLC edges Metro State.

Thomas Hoang’s shot from the top of the box was deflected by a Metro State defender and out of the reach of Roadrunners goalkeeper Shailer Thomas to give Fort Lewis a 1-0 win over host Metro State in a battle of top-15 Division II men’s soccer teams. The Skyhawks (11-0-0, 7-0-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference), ranked No. 1, got a break when a Metro State goal was waived off because of an offside call. Metro (7-3-1, 5-2-0) is ranked No. 14.
