A deicing vehicle clipped the wing of a SkyWest Airlines jet this morning, but none of the 31 passengers or three crew members were injured.

The CRJ-200 jet was on a deicing pad where it was being prepared for a regional flight for Colorado Springs when the accident happened, said Jenny Schiavone, spokeswoman for Denver International Airport.

“It does not sound like a huge incident,” Schiavone said.

SkyWest was operating the United Express flight 6478 when the minor accident happened, said Brooke Heath, spokeswoman for SkyWest.

The 10:35 a.m. collision in which the wing of United Express flight 6478 was struck apparently happened during the deicing process, she said.

The collision did not cause fuel to leak from the plane, Schiavone said.

Passengers debarked from the plane and were taken by bus to Colorado Springs, Heath said.

The deicing apparatus is owned by United, Schiavone said.
