LONDON — A tent is being set up and party decorations are being delivered to Paul McCartney’s house amid speculation that the former Beatle will marry fiancee Nancy Shevell in central London this weekend.

Paparazzi and well-wishers gathered Saturday at the pop icon’s residence in the posh St. John’s Wood neighborhood. British tabloids say the couple plan to marry today and have a small reception afterward.

McCartney and Shevell, right, posted a notice of intent to marry at London’s Marylebone Town Hall in September. Officials say the announcement means they can marry anytime in the next year. His spokesman declined to comment Saturday.

Shevell would be McCartney’s third wife. He married his first wife, the late Linda Eastman, at Marylebone Town Hall in 1969. The Associated Press; John Stillwell, Associated Press photo
