DENVER—The number of tents and makeshift shelters at Denver’s version of the Occupy Wall Street protest has grown to about 20 despite a warning from officers not to camp on the site.
The protesters were set up Sunday on a grassy area west of the state Capitol.
The Colorado State Patrol tells The Denver Post ( ) it has no current plans to remove the tents.
Patrol Capt. John R. Hahn says troopers are monitoring the site.
Hundreds of people took part in a peaceful march in Denver Saturday in chilly temperatures and a light rain. No one was arrested.
The demonstrations began in New York with protesters saying 99 percent of Americans are struggling economically while the richest 1 percent continues to prosper. The protests have spread to other cities.
