GILPIN COUNTY — Two California men were in a 1998 Dodge Stratus that skidded from a slick road Saturday and plunged into South Boulder Creek, killing the passenger, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Fidal Arias, 43, of Santa Maria, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene, said Trooper Nate Reid.
The driver, Mario Ortez, 35, from Calexico, Calif., suffered minor injuries and was taken to Boulder Community Hospital.
