LIONS GET TIME TO SHINE IN PRIME TIME

The skinny: America, meet the Lions. After years of wandering the NFL wilderness in search of something other than losses and misused bad draft picks, Detroit gets a prime-time look as one of the league’s undefeated teams. The question is: Are the Lions ready for their moment, especially quarterback Matthew Stafford (11 touchdowns, three interceptions.)? He has shown the form of a No. 1 draft pick (2009).

The difference will be: Whether the Bears, with plenty of questions on defense and in the offensive line, can plug those gaps. If Chicago can’t keep Stafford from finding Calvin Johnson, the Bears won’t keep the Lions from moving the ball and scoring touchdowns, either. Detroit punishes opposing QBs, and only the Rams’ Sam Bradford has been sacked more than Jay Cutler (15) this season.

The call: Lions 31-23 Jeff Legwold, The Denver Post
