One teenager was killed and two others critically injured in a two-car collision Tuesday in Elbert County.

A 17-year-old boy from Elizabeth was killed, the State Patrol said. An 18-year-old Kiowa man and a 16- year-old Elizabeth girl were airlifted to hospitals in critical condition.

Shortly after 2 p.m., emergency crews were called to Elbert County Road 154 off Colorado 86, after a sedan and a Jeep collided, according to the State Patrol.

The Jeep, on County Road 154, hit the sedan as it pulled out into the road at the intersection with County Road 21.

The three teenagers were in the sedan, a 1996 Buick Century. The Jeep driver, a 19-year-old woman from Elizabeth, suffered minor injuries.
