Northglenn High School has been emptied and students sent home in response to a bomb threat.
The threat was made about 10 a.m., called in from a phone inside the school, said Sgt. Ron Haralson, a Northglenn Police Department spokesman.
Officers and dogs have been searching the school but have not turned up anything, Haralson said.
Officials decided to close the school and send its 1,800 students — grades 9 through 12 — home as a precautionary measure, said Joe Ferdani, an Adams 12 Five Star Schools spokesman.
Northglenn lets out at 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday, Ferdani said, and school officials decided to release an hour early.
Buses were brought in early to get the students who ride them home.
Short of finding a device, the school schedule should resume Thursday.
