Denver police and the FBI are looking for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint Thursday — firing off a shot when he dropped his gun.
The robbery occurred at a Compass Bank near West 32nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard just after noon.
The suspect entered the bank and showed a handgun. Witnesses reported that the man then dropped the gun, which went off.
The suspect is a white man, about 36 years old, and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He was described as having a slender build, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171.
