A 65-year-old hunter missing in Garfield County since early Saturday was found alive Monday, but no other details about his condition or ordeal were released.
The man, who was identified only as a Garfield County resident, was found by search-and-rescue crews.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, the man left two companions behind in camp south of Clark Ridge at about 5 a.m. Saturday to hunt alone in the dense forest and rugged canyons between Meadow Lake and Triangle Park, about 26 miles north of New Castle, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The search included ground crews from numerous agencies, as well as a helicopter from the Colorado National Guard.
