LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ford’s U.S. factory workers have approved a new four-year labor contract.

The last large local to vote approved the agreement Tuesday, ensuring the agreement will go into effect.

Louisville workers, who make Super Duty trucks as well as the new Ford Escape SUV, approved the contract with a 53 percent “yes” vote, according to a post Tuesday evening on the local’s Facebook page. The contract promises more than $1.2 billion in investments and new products at Ford’s two Kentucky assembly plants.

The contract covers 41,000 Ford workers in the U.S. The automaker and the UAW reached the agreement Oct. 4, but it needed to be ratified by workers. Most workers won’t get annual raises under the contract, but they will get profit-sharing checks. They’ll also get a $6,000 bonus for approving the agreement and billions in investments in their plants.
