GOLDEN, Colo.—Utah’s lieutenant governor says his state is open for energy development, including oil shale.

Utah Lt. Gov. Greg Bell told the Oil Shale Symposium on Monday that advances in oil shale development on private and state lands have made development lucrative.

Grand Junction geologist Gerald Daub tells the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ) that Utah’s approach to oil shale is different from Colorado, which is not backing it.
