Giambattista Valli is the latest in a series of top fashion designers to create capsule collections for Macy’s. Beginning Wednesday the store will sell Valli looks in Impulse departments at 225 of its stores, including Cherry Creek and on . Valli’s collection, $50-$100, includes animal prints and jewel tones worked into cocktail dresses, skirts, blouses, lightweight jackets, edgy pants and graphic T-shirts. Key textures are tweed, brocade, faux fur and point d’esprit tulle, geared to dressing up for fall and holiday events. “This capsule reflects my enduring loves, but is really a celebration of my biggest inspiration of all — the energy and vitality of women themselves,” said Valli, an Italian-born designer who now works and shows his seasonal collections in Paris.
