ASPEN, Colo.—A study of new open space in Pitkin County is recommending banning dogs, limiting trail construction and closing it to the public for several months a year.

The study released Wednesday by the county is part of an effort to protect wildlife and habitat.

According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), the county and local governments bought more than 830 acres of land near Snowmass Village for $17 million in December to ensure public access.
