DENVER—Denver has spent $365,000 in overtime expenses over five days for their work on the Wall Street protests.
The Denver Post reports ( ) that the spending includes police, sheriff, public works and environmental health departments. That figure does not include costs for an all day concert at Civic Center Park Saturday that features a member of the Denver band the Flobots. The paper reports an estimated 1,000 protesters marched through downtown then gathered at the park.
Public Works spokeswoman Daelene Mix says the estimate includes costs from Oct. 1, 8, 14, 15 and 16.
Overtime estimates from the Colorado State Patrol were not immediately available. The patrol played the lead role in evicting protesters who had camped out at Lincoln Park, a state park in front of the Capitol.
