GREELEY — Winless Northern Colorado gave fourth- ranked Montana State everything it could handle Saturday, but the Bears still came up short in a 31-21 loss to the Bobcats at Nottingham Field.
UNC’s Seth Lobato completed 20-of-39 passes for 258 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and wide receiver Patrick Walker caught nine passes for 100 yards and two TDs to lead the Bears (0-8, 0-6 Big Sky).
It was by far UNC’s best effort of the season as the Bears produced 346 yards of offense and capitalized on three Montana State turnovers in the first half to keep within 17-10 at halftime.
