Getting your player ready...

I used the Sound Note app to take notes on my iPad during a hearing last week, and it worked perfectly. You can type on the keyboard or scribble with a finger or stylus. But the standout feature is the simultaneous audio recording. Tap on a certain spot in your notes and the app will go to the spot in the audio recording from when you typed the note. This is helpful if you want to listen to just a part of the recording to complete your notes. You can also export written notes to a PDF file and recording to an M4A audio file. Each line in the exported PDF includes a time stamp that marks the spot in the recording from when the note was jotted down. The program costs $5 in the Apple App Store. Andy Vuong, The Denver Post
