ASPEN, Colo.—An Aspen-area man is scheduled to be sentenced in January for once again violating an order barring him from offering taxi rides for money.

Phil Sullivan of Woody Creek doesn’t have a license to operate a taxi. The 75-year-old has said he simply has accepted tips for giving people free rides.

A judge ordered him last year to stop taking money for rides. He spent about a week in jail last March after he was found guilty of violating that order.

Last week a judge ruled he violated the order again last June when he accepted cash from an undercover Public Utilities Commission employee for a ride to a hotel. Sullivan is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 20.
