GATEWAY, Colo.—Clean-up crews are trying to contain a large oil spill that could threaten major waterways.
Authorities say the spill occurred when tanker truck carrying 10,000 gallons of crude oil crashed just north of Gateway.
Early estimates suggested 7,500 gallons of oil leaked out of the tanker.
According to KJCT-TV ( ), the creek connects with the Dolores River on its way to the Colorado River.
