A pilot program will provide 18 parking spaces for hybrid vehicle parking at Denver International Airport, it was announced today.
The close-in hybrid parking spots are close to handicap parking in DIA’s garages and near shuttle pickup and dropoff shelters in economy lots. The spaces are marked with signs that read: “Reserved parking, hybrid vehicle parking only.”
“The City and County of Denver continually strives to be the greenest we can be,” said Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. “The designation of hybrid parking locations at DIA is another example of how the city and the airport value environmentally-friendly initiatives.”
These spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The airport will monitor the demand of the hybrid parking spaces in this pilot program, and, if warranted, may increase the number of designated hybrid vehicle spaces. Standard parking rates apply.
