Firefighters extinguished a chimney fire in a Wheat Ridge home this morning.

At about 8 a.m., crews were called to 4320 Ingalls St., on a report of a structure fire, said Assistant Chief Bob Dowling, a spokesman for the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District.

After arriving, firefighters were able to extinquish the fire quickly and contain it to the chimney.

There were two people inside the home when the fire spread up the chimney. Both got out of the house safely and no injuries were reported.
