PALISADE, Colo.—A rock slide forced the Colorado Department of Transportation to close the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Palisade for two hours, while another closed a highway west of Boulder.

State Transportation Department spokeswoman Mindy Crane said Wednesday the interstate highway was closed around 5 a.m. The highway reopened about 7 a.m.

Crane says the rock slide is not believed to be related to a snowstorm moving through Colorado.

According to KMGH-TV ( ), another rock slide in Boulder Canyon closed Highway 119 near Boulder Falls about 5 a.m. That highway was closed for about an hour after rocks the size of SUVs came down on the roadway. No cars were hit.
