Flagstaff Summit and Boulder Falls have closed for the season, the city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks office said today.
Flagstaff Summit, immediately southwest of town, is closed to vehicles. Boulder Falls, 11 miles west of town in Boulder Canyon, is closed to all access.
Flagstaff Summit Road closes annually for the benefit of wildlife. The narrow road is not maintained in the winter and can be hazardous due to ice. Visitors can still walk or bike to the summit, the city stated. Dogs must be leashed.
The Boulder Falls trail also can be icy and dangerous, the city stated, advising that the falls could be viewed from Colorado Highway 119.
Both closed Wednesday because of the snowstorm. Neither will reopen until May 1.
