Get ready for the gorillas to take over Denver’s streets.
The eighth annual Denver Gorilla Run is Saturday, and organizers expect around 1,000 people in furry ape suits to descend on the area near Union Station.

The race was started by Kessling’s son, Frank, to benefit the fund, which works with the governments in Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo to help both mountain gorillas and local residents via veterinary projects and other cooperative enterprises.
The race is a 5.6K where participants can run, walk, ride, inline skate or skateboard. Start and finish at the Wynkoop Brewing Co., 1634 18th St. Everyone gets a full gorilla suit to keep (included with fee).
