Getting your player ready...

There are plenty of great roles for women in Broadway musicals, but none more demanding than the these two: transforming Eva Peron from an ambitious teen to a shrewd politician in “Evita,” and turning mothers into something a little less than loving as Mama Rose in “Gypsy.”

Patti LuPone has won the Tony for both of them, giving her a resume few performers can match. Bolstered with starring moments in everything from “Annie Get Your Gun” to “Sweeney Todd,” she has a rich repertoire to draw upon for her gig with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Saturday night.

The show starts with Scott O’Neil leading the musicians through a few selections, then Lupone joins in with her picks.

What will LuPone sing?

Whatever LuPone wants, of course. She’s a Broadway diva. You just sit back and love it.

Tickets for the Boettcher Concert Hall event start at $46. You can get them at the box office, at 303- 623-7876 or at . Ray Mark Rinaldi
