Contributions to both sides of the Initiative 300 paid-sick-leave measure on Denver’s ballot totaled nearly $1.3 million, according to pre-election campaign- finance reports filed late Thursday.
The proponents’ Campaign for a Healthy Denver — with an overall total of $462,984 in contributions — stated that the Milwaukee-based 9to5, National Association for Working Women, donated another $257,000 for a total of $287,000, and Family Values @Work, also of Milwaukee, contributed another $98,000 for a total of $173,000.
Keep Denver Competitive, which opposes the ballot issue, reported a total of $835,390 in contributions. The Metropolitan Denver Hotel Association donated another $7,500 for a total of $35,500, and Hospitality Issue PAC, the political advocacy arm of the Colorado Restaurant Association, contributed another $35,000 for a total of $215,000.
