HOUGHTON, Mich.—Milos Gordic scored three goals and the Michigan Tech Huskies scored three empty-net goals to beat Denver 7-2 Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Michigan Tech (5-2-0, 3-2-0) led 4-1 when second-ranked Denver lifted its goalie, leading to three goals in a span of 31 seconds.

The Huskies scored three times in the first 10:22 of the game to chase Denver (3-2-0, 2-1-1) starting goalie Adam Murray. He made just three saves before he was replaced by Juho Olkinuora, who finished with 18 saves.

Gordic scored both of the Huskies’ power-play goals. He also had an empty-netter.

Brett Olson had a goal and two assists and Ryan Furne and Tanner Kero had a goal and an assist.

Huskies goalie Josh Robinson made 38 saves.

Joey LaLeggia and Paul Phillips had Denver goals.

Michigan Tech improved to 5-0-0 at home this season.
