Denver police are investigating a home invasion Friday night during which a man was hit with a shovel.

About 9:30 p.m., officers were called to a home at 3610 Pontiac St. on a report of a robbery in progress, said Lt. Matt Murray, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

Police found the man who had been hit. His name has not been released.

The suspect ran away before officers arrived, Murray said. Police are looking for the suspect.

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was not taken to a hospital.

Police would not say if anything was taken from the home. It was not immediately known if anyone else was in the house at the time of the robbery, Murray said.
