HOUGHTON, Mich.—Brett Olson’s goal midway through the third period helped Michigan Tech earn a 2-2 tie with second-ranked Denver on Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Olson scored at 12:35 of the third period. It was the only even-strength goal of the game.
Michigan Tech’s Milos Gordic scored his fourth goal of the weekend. He had three goals in Friday’s 7-2 win.
Jason Zucker tied the game at 1-1 at 19:50 of the first period and Joey LaLeggia gave Denver (3-2-1, 2-1-2) a 2-1 lead into the second period.
Michigan Tech (5-2-1, 3-2-1) goalie Juho Olkinuora had 11 of his 27 saves in the third period and four more in overtime. Denver’s Josh Robinson finished with 23 saves, including nine in the third period and one in OT.
Michigan Tech is 5-0-1 at home this season.
