A man and a woman were sent to the hospital and a man was arrested, after an argument broke out near a Denver light rail station Friday night.

At 11:15 p.m., officers were called to the station near 4300 East Colorado Center Drive, on a report of a stabbing, said Lt. Matt Murray, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

After arriving, officers found the man and woman near the station, where they told officers a man approached them with a knife. The pair said they did not know the suspect.

The two were taken to a nearby hospital. The man had a stab wound to his hand, and the woman’s injuries were not immediately known.

Neither had life threatening injuries, Murray said. Their names have not been released.

Shortly after arriving, police found and arrested Edward Evans, 58, near the station. Evans was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.

He is currently being held at the Denver County Jail.
