AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police and fire investigators are trying to determine how a toddler boy was killed and a girl seriously injured in a house fire.
Police on Monday identified the boy as 3-year-old Timothy Joseph Ramirez.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassidee Carlson says detectives with the police department’s Crimes Against Children unit have been called in to work with the fire department because children were involved in the fire Sunday morning.
The police department said bars over the windows had to be removed to get to the children. Police said a woman outside the home had told officers there were two children trapped inside.
