The seventh annual Adventure Film Festival drops its signature cinema on Boulder this weekend with 40 outdoor and environmental films. From documentary-style flicks like Peter McBride’s “Chasing Water” or compelling “One Beach” to adrenaline-heavy jaw-droppers like “Art of Flight” or “All. I. Can,” the three-day film fest will sate just about every moviegoer’s tastes.

With a rowdy, athlete- and celebrity-rich kickoff and after parties, a photo and filmmaker workshop, kids’ film fest, photo exhibit and the “The Wolf and Medallion” live art performance, the Adventure Film Festival has moved its thrill beyond the darkened theater while maintaining the power of its often-overwhelming films.
