Three people were home when a space heater set a garage on fire in the Willow Springs neighborhood northwest of Ken Caryl this afternoon, fire officials said.
West Metro Fire crews saved the home, but the garage was destroyed, the fire department said.
“As the crews left the station they saw smoke billow from the residential community,” West Metro Fire stated on its Facebook page.
“Crews responded to find flames and heavy smoke pouring from the 16000 block of Mountain Bluebird Way. Fire fighters aggressively attacked the flames and stopped the blaze from spreading inside the home.”
All three of the residents were unhurt, the agency stated. Though the home was saved, it sustained heavy smoke damage.
